As a regulatory and sanctioning organization, the USFL is responsible to license participants involved in competitions. Licensing is meant to track athletes and officials and ensure their suitability for participation in the sport. Since most events involve youth participants, background checks and safety training are also required for adults who's duties involve direct contact with minors.

To keep with our charter in developing good character and citizenship via participation in safe and affordable combat Sports, the USFL has strived to keep all costs involved with participation at a minimum.
